Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 6 : Monday Actions

The only match which was placed on Monday, the Potters hosting the team from St James Parks, Newcastle United. Alan Pardew’s side are currently lying at the bottom of the table whereas Stoke City so far is having mix reactions this season, one inspiring eye catcher is the match against Manchester City at the Etihad where they wrap all three points. Yesterday’s match favoured the home side who scored half way through the first half, thanks for forward Peter Crouch.

It wasn’t the smoothest of games, there was a sum of 35 fouls till the final whistle. Despite that, possession was near equally shared for both teams. Any players from Stoke City or Newcastle United holding a place at your fantasy premier league line up?

Players who stood out last night:

Striker

Peter Crouch – The big man up front scored the only goal of the match which helped the Potters seal all three points. The former Liverpool man showed great character upfront linking up well with Victor Moses. Strong and never hesitated to challenge for the ball in the box!

Midfielders

Victor Moses – Last season’s loan spell at Liverpool was poor from the former Chelsea man. Keeping that aside, Moses has already been a vital part of Mark Hughes’s team each week. Assisted Peter Crouch for the game winner and caused the Mappies plenty of troubles with his pace. Man of the match!

Glenn Whelan – Won the battle against the Newcastle midfield, not allowing space for Cabella and Gouffran to step up their game.

Defenders

Ryan Shawcross – Stood strong throughout 90 minutes and clinched an important clean sheet.

Mike Williamson – The English footballer helped to remain the score line down for the team in black and white. Numerous essential interceptions were notable.

Goalkeeper

Asmir Begovic – Barely was troubled throughout the match as he only made one save which he dealt well with it. Enough to secure a deserving clean sheet!
