Fantasy Premier League Tips: Goalkeepers for Gameweek 23

After a greatly fascinating plus dramatic FA Cup and Capital One Cup matches, the Premier League returns this weekend.

Drop

Joel Robles

First choice shot stopper Tim Howard is still out struggling with a calf injury, hence the 24-year old will be guarding the post once again. The Spaniard clinched his first clean sheet of the season against West Brom in the previous match, having a much relaxed day. Well this weekend, won’t be tantamount as the earlier gameweek as The Toffees travel to Selhurst Park to face a rejuvenated Crystal Palace side. Two wins in the league and an inspiring 2-3 victory over the mighty Southampton in the FA Cup, clearly has displayed the instant impact of Alan Pardew. Robles will not have a walk in the park as Yaya Sanogo scored on his debut and Dwight Gayle has notched three goals in the last two matches. The Everton backline are progressively showing improvements lately, yet The Eagles are sharp and dynamic offensively. The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper is not the finest of choices for the dream team.

Punt

Joe Hart

The England international is undeniably one of the best goal guardians in the league. This weekend will be a tough fixture where The Citizens travel to Stamford Bridge for a title crackdown. Chelsea have been solid at home, yet there are couple of signs that they are stoppable after a humiliation by Bradford City in the FA Cup. Hart could not do much when The Gunners ran riot at The Etihad Stadium in the previous match hence will look to bounce back this weekend.

Hot

Simon Mignolet

Form is temporary, class is permanent! The Belgian international is on impressive form lately, justifying why he should be the number one goalkeeper for The Reds. The former Sunderland man pulled off heroic saves against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup yet was unlucky not to reach the final. Moreover, the Merseyside Reds are rock-solid at the back, having Frenchman Mamadau Sakho and versatile midfielder Emre Can shielding the post strong as OX.  Mignolet has kept two clean sheets in a row, adding to a total of seven this season. He has retained his self-confidence after numerous critics on his recent form. This weekend, Liverpool play host to West Ham United who have variety of attackers who are in decent form since the beginning of the campaign. However, the home side holds good defensive record and Simon Mignolet will be eyeing for the third empty net!
