Female turfers will be in the spotlight at Keeneland on Saturday afternoon in the Grade I, $350,000 Jenny Wiley Stakes. The 1 1/16th-mile grass event drew an accomplished field of 11, led by a Chad Brown-trained trio. Post time for the Jenny Wiley, Race 10 of 11, is 6:12 p.m. EST. As always, feel free to try out FanXT’s Daily Fantasy Jockey game!
#3 OFF LIMITS (5-1) was a neck shy of being 6-for-6 last year, culminating a fine campaign with a score in the Grade I Matriarch at Del Mar. She didn’t get the cleanest trip off the bench in Tampa’s Hillsborough Stakes but finished with interest to be fifth. OFF LIMITS should move forward off that while scaling back a 1/16th, which could help her. Joel Rosario maintains the assignment for top turf trainer Chad Brown.
#7 SISTERCHARLIE, the second of three Brown trainees (the third being FOURSTAR CROOK), is the tepid 7-2 morning-line favorite. She hasn’t raced since last July but unleashed a powerful late rally for second in the Belmont Oaks. SISTERCHARLIE has worked like a monster in the mornings leading up to the Jenny Wiley and keeps John Velazquez on.
#10 PROCTOR’S LEDGE (12-1) and #11 FOURSTAR CROOK (5-1) finished heads apart in the Hillsborough, with the latter winning the bob. That narrow margin of victory, combined with the fact that PROCTOR’S LEDGE was sent to the lead a bit too early and wandered in the lane, makes PROCTOR’S LEDGE a much more appealing play than FOURSTAR CROOK. However, it appears they are only running for minor spoils. Feargal Lynch and Javier Castellano are the respective riders.
The play: $5 exacta box 3/7 ($10)
DFJ analysis: All but two of Joel Rosario’s nine mounts this Saturday are listed at single-digit odds. Among those assignments are some live price plays in three of the four stakes races on the program. Rosario has Giuseppe the Great (8-1) in the Ben Ali, Greyvitos (6-1) in the Lexington, and OFF LIMITS in the Jenny Wiley.
