Vintager a value selection in Shadwell Turf Mile

The Grade I, $1 million Shadwell Turf Mile pits 14 high-level grass horses against one another at Keeneland this Saturday. The prestigious event, which carries an automatic berth into the Breeders’ Cup Mile, goes as the 10th of 11 races on a stakes-laden program at the Lexington oval. Estimated post time for the Shadwell Turf Mile is 6:15 p.m. ET.

#8 VINTAGER (10-1) looks dangerous in the Shadwell Turf Mile invading from Europe for Godolphin. He’s won two group races in a row going one mile, one in France and one in Germany. The speed figures VINTAGER earned in that pair of outings stamp him as a legitimate contender in this spot. Jack Doyle sees fit to ship in for the call.

#6 ADMISSION OFFICE (8-1) was last seen flying for third in the Wise Dan Stakes at Churchill back in June. The layoff should not inhibit him based on his April allowance win over this course following an extended layoff. Jose Ortiz takes over on the improving son of Point of Entry. Any sort of pace battle up front will only help ADMISSION OFFICE.

#12 SUEDOIS (8-1) won this race back in 2017 but has found the winner’s circle just once in 14 subsequent starts. However, he hit the board seven times in those 14 efforts. SUEDOIS will be rolling late under Jamie Spencer.

#3 BANDUA (6-1) moves up if there’s a scratch. He should be up close to the pace as he cuts back in distance under Adam Beschizza. BANDUA was last seen fading to third in the Arlington Million, which was preceded by a winning effort in the Arlington Handicap. He’s training forwardly for Jack Sisterton.

The play: $4 exacta 8/6,12, $2 win 6 ($10)
