Magic Attitude can make stateside debut a winning one in Belmont Oaks

The Grade I, $250,000 Belmont Oaks highlights the opening Saturday card of the Belmont fall meet. A 1 1/4-mile turf heat for three-year-old fillies, the Belmont Oaks drew a compact but quality field of five. Post time for the Belmont Oaks, going as Race 5 on a 10-race card, is 3:04 p.m. ET. The race can be seen nationally on FS1.

#2 MAGIC ATTITUDE (EVEN, morning-line favorite) was Group I placed in France earlier this year. She looks intimidating in this short field for the Belmont Oaks. MAGIC ATTITUDE began her season with a Group III victory before settling for second in a Group I behind next-out winner Tawkeel. Then she ran fifth in the prestigious Group I Prix de Diane. MAGIC ATTITUDE effectively drops in class on Saturday and lures Javier Castellano for her stateside unveiling. Trainer Arnaud Delacour wins at a 29 percent clip with new acquisitions.

#5 ANTOINETTE (9-5) was an impressive gate-to-wire winner in Saratoga Oaks when last seen. It would not be surprising to see her employ those frontrunning tactics once more in this short field. ANTOINETTE retains John Velazquez and drilled a bullet in preparation for the Belmont Oaks.

#4 NEIGE BLANCHE (5-1) should be rolling late in this one under Jose Lezcano. She was a closing fourth in her first U.S. start in the 1 1/8-mile Del Mar Oaks. Having won a Group III at 1 3/8-miles overseas, NEIGE BLANCHE should appreciate stretching back out on Saturday.

The play: $5 trifecta 2,5/2,5/4 ($10)
